Note To Self 25: Mario Bizarre
Whenever I see an independent game that’s a clone of Mario, the real test for how innovative the programmers are is not the levels or the enemies. It’s the power-ups. Come up with some original ways to transform Mario, and I’ll look at it twice.
It was only after I finished the comic did I realize I was riffing off of Dueling Analogs’ Rejected Megaman villains. But he hasn’t really done any of those lately, and at least I’m taking a different approach to it. Maybe there will be more if I can think of some.
As for the last one…I live in Las Vegas. It’s not all that uncommon here. Deal.
