I love these animations! It was a sad day when I discovered they'd been taken down. It's great to know they'll be back where they belong. (*Psst* my favorite's the Gazebo one)

This is perfect timing too, since I've gotten into a new gaming group, and I don't think any of them have experienced the joy of the Knights. Your animations could be a great introduction.

I've been able to get my Orange Box running with Cedega.
The unfortunate side effect is that it's 5 bucks a month, but you get support when something breaks (IE, Valve updates).
I can also run a few other games that I'm normally not able to on linux as well. WoW, Guild Wars, Warcraft 3, and a quite a few others.
Check it out, and I think there's a trial version available (latest version 6.0.5 fixed a number of OB issues).

Does it really matter whether some people download games and such? The PC Game industry has a yearly revenue counted in billions of dollars.

The problem with Free Software at least when viewed with consumer protection and satisfaction in mind is that in many countries companies supplying free stuff is not liable for any repairs needed or faults in their products. By paying for the product and receiving a legit license code, you have "proof of purchase" which is the entry point for all legislation concerning consumer protection.

And furthermore, revenue based on the success of your product is a measuring point used by a lot of companies when they decide what infrastructure to build and maintain in their company setup. For them support, maintenance, and a legally responsible party with an inclination to stay in the market is a strong argument. People who can just close up shop and leave you hanging is not considered a viable solution by a lot of professionals.

Andrew,

First: you really need to have a generic contact page so people can write you without posting a comment to a blog entry and hoping you find it.

Second: I FOUND THE KODT ANIMATIONS!! There is a site out there (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php) that stores a cache of webpages as they are updated, it doesn't work 100%, but I was able to dig through and find the old animations.

I collected all the KODT and DT animations, as well as the teaser/trailer animations he put up and some other miscellaneous content. In addition, there is a little gem of a mashup .mp3 (Strong Bad vs Sugarhill Gang vs Chic) that he made.

It's about 12 MB all told. If Andrew's willing, I'd be happy to upload a .zip with all the .swf files to his server so everyone can download them. If not, I'll see if I can't find some other way to distribute these files (BitTorrent, etc.). In the meantime, you can always go spelunking through the dusty attic of the intertubes on your own :-)

Whatever happened to the old Knights of the Dinner Table flash videos from late 90's-early 2000's? Those things were classics.
